Nah! Not really. What is it you might wonder? Well it’s NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope taking a photograph, rather a composite of photos, at the Kitt Peak National Observatory in Arizona showing a Helix Nebula. What is a Helix Nebula you might wonder? Well here’s how the story unfolds… “The Helix Nebula (also known as NGC 7293) is a planetary nebula (PN) about 700 light-years away in the constellation Aquarius. It is one of the closest planetary nebulae to Earth and was discovered by Karl Ludwig Harding before 1824. It has a very similar appearance to the Ring Nebula. It is also similar in size, age, and physical characteristics to the Dumbbell Nebula, with the significant difference in appearance being a consequence of the relative proximity and more nearly equatorial viewing angle of the Dumbbell. The Helix has often been referred to as the Eye of God on the Internet, since about 2003. The Helix Nebula was also featured in the 2004 Battlestar Galactica TV series.” as per Wikipedia. NASA’s take on Helix Nebula is available at http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap030510.html. Though NASA has never referred to it as The Eye Of God, The Helix has been referred to as The Eye Of God on the internet since about 2003.
I can only say if God can create something so beautiful, then how beautiful must He really be and how much more beautiful will His eye really be? Think about it!
